At precisely 4.40pm on May 14, 2004, just as I was editing the following sentence sentence: "May 14, 1987 - A coup took place in Fiji led by Colonel Sitiveni Rambuka, due to native Melanesians' displeasure at the economic, political and cultural influences that Indian migrants and migrant descendants were having in the country", an intervieweee on ABC Radio National spoke of the 1987 Fiji coup. Although it was on May 14, his comments were not in the context of the anniversary of the coup, as they were pre-recorded and the topic of the interview was the Solomon Islands; Fiji was just an aside. It was 'just' a coincidence.
